Sisterbridge Scrapbooking Event
This is a scrapbook activity to be directed specifically at the mixed-race experience. Attendees will create pages that reflect different aspects of their identities, such as cultural celebrations, favorite foods, media and role models they connect with, HBCU's, Black excellence in education, hair care products and routines, music, values, childhood memories, and other experiences that resonate with them as mixed girls. The goal is for each person to create a scrapbook that tells the story of who they are and how their different identities come together to shape their experiences. Following the activity, we will have a discussion based on the scrapbook pages and topics such as identity, belonging, self-expression, and navigating multiple cultures or communities.
This event will be hosted on August 15th, from 2:00-5:00 PM. Attendees will not be let in unless they show proof of a purchased ticket. Tickets are $10, and will be used to cover costs.
